A Digital Local Agenda (DLA) is a common strategy shared with citizens, for the development of the Information Society which bears in mind socio-economic, cultural and institutional factors. Digital divide in Europe is a reality, and the economic and social development of European regions is largely conditioned by the degree of implementation of the Information Society.

Exchanging best practice experiences about the states’ public administration modernisation

On 15 and 16 May 2013, the Director General of the Estonian Information System's Authority (RIA), Jaan Priisalu, and the Head of the State Portal (eesti.ee) Mihkel Tikk, met the President of the Portuguese Agency for the Modernisation of the Public Administration (AMA), Paulo Neves, and its representatives. The purpose of the meeting was to exchange best practices on the two states’ modernisation of their public administration.

New application of the EC’s Internal Market Information System (IMI) available to Member States

The IMI system, developed by the European Commission in close cooperation with the Member States, helps national, regional and local authorities to identify and communicate with authorities in other EU Member States. Until now the IMI tool has covered the exchange of information regarding the free movement of citizens and businesses.
